Dr. Jonathan Rootenberg, M.D., F.R.C.P.(C.), D.A.B.P.N., is a qualified medical practitioner licensed to practice medicine in Ontario, as well as in Michigan, since 1993. As a psychiatric specialist, he is board-certified in both Canada and the United States; additionally, he has completed a subspecialty in Forensic Psychiatry, the interface between psychiatry and the law, with added board certification therein. Dr. Rootenberg holds a faculty position with the University of Toronto in the Department of Psychiatry, and is affiliated with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (formerly known as the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry) as a Staff Psychiatrist in the Law and Mental Health Program. He is also a Consultant in the Sexual Behaviour, Workplace Violence, and Psychological Trauma Clinics. From January 1996 until January 2007, he was the Clinical Head of the Forensic Assessment Unit at Whitby Mental Health Centre. Dr. Rootenberg is also a Psychiatric Member of the Ontario Review Board and of the Consent and Capacity Board. Since obtaining his medical license in Ontario in 1993, he has maintained a private practice where he assesses, diagnoses, and treats a broad spectrum of psychiatric disorders. .
