Resa Eisen, M.S.W., C.S.W., is the Director of Training at workplace.calm, inc.  She obtained her Masters Degree in Social Work in 1976. Her focus on dispute resolution began early in her career as a social worker at the Family Court Clinic in Toronto, where she conducted custody and access assessments for the Provincial Court of Ontario. She went into private practice in 1982, specializing in assessments and mediation.  She later expanded her mediation practice to focus on the resolution of conflict in the workplace. 

As Director of Training, she continues to evolve her work in the area of conflict-resolution and mediation of complex workplace interpersonal situations.  As a consultant to public and private sector organizations, Resa has mediated or facilitated the resolution of many workplace impasses.

She is a co-author of the Workplace Risk Assessment-20 (WRA-20), a tool designed to assess risk in the workplace, and the Employee Risk Assessment-20 (ERA-20), a tool designed to assess risk for violence in a potential workplace violence perpetrator.

Resa has been an instructor of mediation at the University of Toronto, School of Continuing Studies, and has provided ADR and Mediation Skills Training to a wide variety of organizations in both the private and public sectors. She recently co-designed a family mediation course at Trent University.  Resa has been particularly active in designing and implementing training programs to government agencies who are adopting mediation as one of their central dispute resolution processes. She designed the Settlement Conference Process for Legal Aid Ontario, and implemented a program of conflict resolution for Area Directors and lawyers throughout the province.

Resa continues her practice as a marriage and family therapist. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Professional Social Workers, and is a certified member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
