Dr. Colleton is a forensic psychiatrist based in Toronto, Ontario with a private practice focused on independent medical evaluations (IMEs). He has testified before tribunals, including the Ontario Review Board, the Consent and Capacity Board, and the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board. Dr. Colleton testifies regularly in court related to fitness evaluations in Brampton and has been qualified in the past as an expert witness for hearings related to criminal responsibility and dangerous offender applications. 

Dr. Colleton completed medical training at the University of Alberta in 1997 and psychiatry training, including a final year in forensic psychiatry, at the University of Toronto in 2002. Dr. Colleton holds a lecturer position in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. In 2013, He successfully wrote the sub-specialty examination in forensic psychiatry, offered by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. 

Dr. Colleton joined the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in 2002 and remains a courtesy member of the medical staff, conducting brief fitness assessments at the A. Grenville and William Davis Courthouse in Brampton. He is the consultant psychiatrist at the Roy McMurtry Youth Centre in Brampton, providing psychiatric care to young persons detained there. 

Dr. Colleton maintains an active private practice, conducting third-party assessments for civil and criminal proceedings; these address issues such as workplace safety; disability, fitness for duty and return to work; professional capacity; standard of practice; long-term psychological effects of trauma; risk of violent or sexual re-offence; and criminal responsibility.
